We fight for The Lady's and Guest's amusement. You know the Dog Fighting in late 1830s-1976? Well, replace Dogs with Children and add many more twists and unfair things and there you go. Sometimes The Maw buys children from The Hunter. The Ferryman being the person who takes the children. The Maw is a boat in the sea that kidnaps Runaway children. Some Teenagers' minds haven't been fully corrupted into liking this stuff. Now, can they escape this brutal Maw or will they die trying?Ī Great Source of amusement for Adults and some Teenagers. However, this changes when Six comes around. The other things are stuff that you need to piece together, like the way the butler moves around. It doesn’t go out of its way to show any lore I suppose, except for six before the maw. Fighting until they are eventually slain in battle. It shows what the world is like in one small region outside the maw, and some neat details about the world, but not much. (Though large Arena from The Children's POV.) Whoever dies (If they do) gets taken to the Chefs to be eaten.Īll the children have lost hope of escaping and accepted that this was there life now. They force children to fight each other in a small arena. This Maw decides to torture the children until their death. You see, this Maw is more brutal than the normal restaurant prison you're used to. That's because they do something nobody else does. People get on many ships just to visit them. Getting visitors often, normally everyday despite them being in the ocean. The Guest Area and the Lady's Quarters are directly connected by an elevator, which is located right above the other and overlooked by a balcony.(Picture is not made by me. The first four areas are separated by vast abysses, and illusion shows that the Maw is a large town and that traveling hooks carry sacks between areas are connected by rails. This includes doors next to the floor and miniature stages with clocks installed. Interestingly, despite the fact that the principal inhabitants are gigantic in comparison to six, the Maw constructs and is easily accessible for small creatures in many areas. The Maw also has electrical generators for powering the different light sources and lifts found in the areas. Behind the Maw, the large aquatic creatures in the kitchen are trailing gigantic fishing nets. The black fumes propulsion, as seen in its conception, does not seem to propel itself with propellers.Įvery smoke not used to propel the Maw escapes the single funnel at the peak of the Maw. The Maw is powered by steam and has great engines which consume coal to power, as seen in The Hideaway DLC. There are portholes in the trailer, too, which can be seen outside on board.

There are also waterproof doors in the lower areas to prevent flooding in its compartments when a breach occurs. Like a ship, the Maw tends to heel smoothly in the waves to make certain objects roll over rooms. When the Maw is over, it looks like a small rock form with a door, with a chimney on the top, underneath black smoke. That said, the Maw is partially submersible and can anchor itself as well. If passengers, however, have to climb, they can raise themselves further out of the water to disclose their shell-like entrance. It floats like an iceberg because of this design, where only its funnel breaks the surface of the ocean while larger volumes lie underwater. The Maw works as an ocean tile but has a vertical look like a skyscraper. How or when Maw was constructed or who made it is never explained. The Maw is made primarily of metal, with many. This is where the entire game takes place, and the player must navigate the many rooms in order to escape it and its inhabitants.

The Maw is a large, mostly underwater, floating, mobile island location that Six, The Runaway Kid and the other children are taken to. It is described by the extremely rich and powerful elite as a sort of underwater resort. The Maw is the setting of both Little Nightmares and the DLC Secrets of the Maw. The Maw is the main venue for game-playing in Little Nightmares.
